Eight Month Update...
Stewart is 8 months old today, as I always say, it is hard ot believe it. Here is a summary of his "skills" or whatever you want to call them.
He can:
- crawl
- eat mushy foods: favorites include sweet potatoes, peas, carrots (homemade by mom), bananas (we call them "naners"), applesauce. He is fading on his like of rice cereal and oatmeal.
- bite with pain. his two bottom teeth are very sharp
- swim with assistance, a lot of assistance. bottom line here is that he likes water
- says "dadadadadadada" and "mama" but has no clue as to why he says it
- recognize his name
- pet the dog
Typical Day:
between 5:30-6:30am - wake up, drink some formula, crawl around, eat breakfast (naners and oatmeal), play around with his fish bowl, stuffed dog, drum set
9am: take a nap, usually a long nap (2-3 hours)
noon-ish: wake up, get changed into clothes for the day. have lunch, maybe take a bath
3-ish: nap, sometimes 45-90 min
5.30pm: dinner
7pm: bedtime.

Knowing When to Lower the Crib
Recently, Stewart figured out he was big enough to see over the crib bumpers. So when you go in to his room after a nap he likes to look up at you. It also makes you realize it is time to drop the mattress so he cannot climb out.
hello
I can reach my mobile and destroy it with ease. This used to be a challenge for me - no longer.

Visiting the Indiana State House
Peter's classmate Michael gave us a tour of the Indiana State House on Friday when we were up in Indy. Beautiful building built in the late 1800's. We were allowed into the House chamber and we took some photos of our future legislator, Stewart. This same chamber is where the governor gives his state-of-the-state address.

Beginning the Conclusion
Tomorrow is the start of the last 7 weeks of school for Peter. He has a easier schedule than prior sessions with 4 classes and a teaching assistant schedule.
We look forward to moving home (into the house) on April 1. We should start to wrap things up in Bloomington around March 20 with Peter starting work on March 29 or so.

Back in B-Town
After 1000 miles and three days of driving through sun, fog in Vermont, snow in New York and PA, and ice in Ohio, we returned to Bloomington just before Stewart's bedtime...good timing! It was quite a long trip for both Stewart and Jersey, but luckily we only have to do it one more time.

Hotel Lounging
A healthy snowstorm had us spend the night in Erie, PA. Jersey enjoying walking in the snow and lounging on the king-sized bed which he took for his own. In the 15 or so hours we were there, he was on the bed for about 14 of it.
jersey and stewart relaxing in bed the morning we are leaving. Stewart is playing with snoopy, a gift from Kaz, since we lost Ploppers the night before in Albany.

Driving in the Car...a lot...
Stewart resting with Ploppers on another car ride during the 3 weeks back east. We logged over 2,500 miles of drving which was a lot for little Stewart and big Jersey.
Jersey resting, too. He has a lot less room in the car so he usually sits in the way back. He came up with some innovative (can a dog be innovative?) ways of contorting his 115# frame in the back seat.
Stewart and the Staples'
Made a quick journey to the Staples for New Years. Stewart was not feeling too well during the trip so we only made this stop. He cut his first two teeth about a week prior. Despite the activity in the below photos he was asleep for the entire time we were there except 1 hour at night and one in the morning. Maybe he'll be more excited to ring in the new year next year!
